Rain intervenes as Sampath and Hayleys secure wins

Jeevan Mendis century helped Sampath Bank secure a huge win against SLC U-19 by 110 runs through DL method at MCA ground. Sampath Bank won the toss and elected to bat first. Jeevan Mendis was the star with the bat as he scored 122 and propelled them to a massive total of 334 in 50 overs.

 

The teens were up against it and they never got going. Thaveesha Abishek and Sonal Dinusha put together a good partnership but after their wickets the chase was over. When rain intervened, SLC U-19  were 126 for 3.

Unfortunately this match was called off in the 2nd innings due to rain. LB won the toss and elected to field first. Mahela Udawatte and Priyamal Perera guided MAS to a respectable total of 229. When rain poured down, LB were in a spot of bother at 69 for 4.

Hayleys v Dimo

 

Hayleys secured victory by 19 runs from the DL method against Dimo at SSC today. Dimo having won the toss, elected to field first. After a slow start, Hayleys opening batsman Ron Chandraguptha and experienced Sachithra Serasinghe picked up the pace with quick fire half centuries. National discard Kithruwan Vithanage also chipped in with a half ton as they posted 289 in their 50 overs.

In response, Dimo were 2 down for just 6 runs. Hashan Dumidu and Dinesh Chandimal our together a partnership but the wicket of Chandimal for 39 took away the chance of a win for Dimo. When rain intervened, Dimo were 113 for 3.
