Sri Lanka Cricket Felicitates Dimuth Karunaratne on His 100th Test Match

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) today honored veteran batsman Dimuth Karunaratne for reaching the remarkable milestone of 100 Test matches.Karunaratne, who achieved this feat during the ongoing Test series against Australia, was felicitated in a special ceremony held just before the commencement of the second Test.

The event was graced by Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa, Vice President of International Cricket, SLC; Sanath Jayasuriya, Head Coach of the Sri Lanka National Men’s Team; Dhananjaya de Silva, Captain of Sri Lanka’s Test team; Steve Smith, Captain of the Australian team; and Charith Asalanka, Sri Lanka’s White-Ball Captain. Also in attendance were National Team Manager Mahinda Halangode, Sri Lanka national team players, and support staff.

Dimuth’s parents and family members were present with him to witness this significant and proud moment.
As part of the felicitation, Sanath Jayasuriya, one of only seven Sri Lankans to have played 100 Test matches, presented Karunaratne with his commemorative 100th Test cap.

On-behalf of Sri Lanka Cricket, Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa presented a special plaque and a gift in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Sri Lankan cricket.

The ceremony was organized under the guidance of SLC President Mr. Shammi Silva and the SLC Executive Committee.
Former Sri Lanka cricketer and renowned international commentator Russel Arnold served as the master of ceremonies for the event.
