[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Warner Half century and another disappointing performance with the bat ensured a 3-0 sweep by the hands of Australia in the 3rd and Final T20 at the MCG.
Finch won the toss and elected to field first. The opening pair of Niroshan Dickwella and Kusal Mendis didn’t last long as Dickwella fell in the very first over. Mendis struggled to get going and finally gave his wicket away.
Once again it was Kusal Janith who looked in control and steered the ship with a brisk half century. He found support from Avishka Fernando and Bhanuka Rajapaksha who chipped in with valuable cameos. For the Aussies, The three seamers, Cummins, Starc and Richardson shared 2 wickets each.
The response was clinical once again by the host. Finch and Warner got off to flying start. The pair added 69 runs for the first wicket in just 8 overs. Steve Smith couldn’t make much of a contribution and then Ben McDermott was caught in front my Malinga to put some pressure on the Australian batters.
However, In form Warner steered the ship until the end as he stroked yet another half century. Himself and Turner got their side over the line with 16 balls to spare and 7 wickets in hand.
