South Africa win in clean sweep

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]South Africa romped to a comprehensive 10-wicket triumph over Sri Lanka in the third and final match for a 3-nil clean sweep of the T20 series on Tuesday at the R. Premadasa International Stadium. Having restricted Sri Lanka to 120 for 8 in 20 overs after the hosts opted to take first lease, the Proteas victory charge was led by Quinton de Kock who struck 59 off 46 balls inclusive of 7 fours and Reeza Hendricks 56 off 42 laced with 5 fours and a six in recording the highest partnership for any wicket against Sri Lanka in T20s.

The South Africans put themselves in the box seat in next to no time as Sri Lanka, making a few changes, plunged to 18 for 1 and 19 for 2 losing Avishka Fernando for 12 and Dhananjaya de Silva, who was sent at No.3, for 2. Sri Lanka reached 50 for 3 that of Bhanuka Rajapaksa for 5 after 6.4 overs and 62 for 4 after the halfway mark as the tight Proteas bowling attack reigned in. Kusal Janith Perera once again top scored for the hosts with 39 off 33 (3×4) followed by an unbeaten 24 by Chamika Karunaratne off 19 balls (2×6), and skipper Dasun Shanaka 18 off 26 (2×4). Bjorn Fortune took 2 for 21 and Kagisso Rabada 2 for 23. Quinton de Kock was adjudged Player of the Match and Player of the Series following his unbeaten 58 in the previous match and 36 in the opening match.
