[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Sri Lanka U19 squad to tour Bangladesh for 2 Tests and 5 Limited over matches were announced yesterday. Selectors have included fresh faces as the teens prepare for the upcoming World Cup in January 2020.
The team led by All Rounder Nipuna Dhanajaya from St Joseph Vaz College will leave colombo on the 23rd of October for a month whole tour in Bangladesh. After failing to qualify for the Asia Cup finals, these teens have a chance of proving themselves as the selectors keep a close eye on the performances in preparation for the next years World Cup.
For the limited over matches, there are only three new inclusions from the team that played for the Asia cup. Wicket Keeper batsman Chihan Kalindu from Matara Servatius’ College, left arm spinner and Richmondite Dilum Sudheera and allrounder Sonal Dinusha from Mahanama College has been added to the squad replacing Ahan Wickramasinghe, Kamil Mishara and Ashian Daniel.
For the two 4 day matches there are altogether 9 changes from the team that won the test series against Australia last January. Notable inclusions are the upcoming slinger from Kandy, Matheesha Pathirana and Nalanda Skipper Avishka Perera.
The likes of Kamil Mishara, Ashain Daniel, Dilum Sudheera and Navod Paranavithana have missed out while Amshi De Silva, Dunith Wellalage and Ruvin Peiris have got a chance to prove themselves in the big stage.
